This photo of me with Mom and Phil shows off our rarely captured but often exposed silly side.

The 22nd sketch challenge has been posted at the SCRAP & MUSIC challenge blog! Head over to the site to grab the sketch, which I’m proud to have designed, and play along. This sketch came with the song “Don’t Worry Be Happy” by Bobby McFerrin.

Scrap & Music sketch #22

My layout

This is just one of those photos that I think all families probably have—the make-a-silly-face photo. I love it because it’s posed yet carefree. That’s me, Mom and Phil in our kitchen in May 1979. When I saw this shot in my photo organizer, I thought it fit the mood of this week’s challenge song quite well.

Product/technique notes

The background paper is a lovely pattern from The Girls’ Paperie. I created a Silhouette cut file to cut the hearts from the background paper and then backed it with red cardstock. I also designed the title and cut the butterflies on my Cameo.

The challenge

The challenges on this blog involve following the sketch and using a title on your layout with a line from the provided music. Below I’ve included the video as well as the lyrics for this song:

“Don’t Worry Be Happy” by Bobby McFerrin

Here’s a little song I wrote
You might want to sing it note for note
Don’t worry, be happy

In every life we have some trouble
But when you worry, you make it double
Don’t worry, be happy

Don’t worry, be happy now
Oo, ooo…

Don’t worry, be happy (x4)
Oo, ooo…

Ain’t got no place to lay your head
Somebody came and took your bed
Don’t worry, be happy

The land-lord say your rent is late
He may have to litigate
Don’t worry, be happy

Look at me, I’m happy

Don’t worry, be happy

Let me give you my phone number
When you worry, call me I will make you happy

Don’t worry, be happy

Ain’t got no cash, ain’t got no style
Ain’t got no girl to make you smile
Don’t worry, be happy

‘Cause when you worry your face will frown
And that will bring everybody down
So don’t worry, be happy

Don’t worry, be happy now
Oo, ooo…

Don’t worry, be happy (x4)
Oo, ooo…

Don’t worry, don’t worry, don’t do it, be happy
Let the smile on your face
Don’t bring everybody down like this

Don’t worry, people will soon pass
What ever it is

Don’t worry, be happy

I am not worried, I am happy
