There are so many wonderful ways to find your way to art—and find yourself through art.
I, like many crafty people, have wended my way through a number of media over the years. Some crafts I try and move on from quickly; some I will keep for a lifetime. Crochet (which I learned in grade school at our public library) and papercrafting have lasted the longest. My scrapbooking obsession led to my interest in coloring and card making. And that’s how I found Sandy Allnock.
Once I started looking for online resources about card making, I heard about Operation Write Home, a nonprofit that Sandy founded to send handmade cards to deployed soldiers. Then I found her YouTube channel, and I’ve been watching her fabulous, fun tutorials ever since!
Sandy is an artist with a generous spirit and a natural talent for teaching. I have learned so much through her daily videos, and I own her Copic Jumpstart and Drawing 101 courses. I look forward to introducing my crafty self to my artist self with her guidance.
