Jake-o-lantern

October 21, 2015 By Janice Daquila-Pardo 4 Comments

Jake-o-lantern is a one-photo scrapbook page that uses My Mind's Eye products.

I was snapping a few photos of our boy, Jake, while he lounged in front of the pumpkin. Then he yawned. He’ll forever be our Jake-o-lantern now. I wish I could carve our pumpkin to look like him!

Product/technique notes

I followed Paper Issues’ October Sketchy Saturday sketch and used products from the My Mind’s Eye Mischievous collection. The title letters are a Little Yellow Bicycle chipboard alpha. You can’t tell in the photo, but they are flocked with cobwebs, which look really great in person.

I’m also entering this in the ScrapMuch? October color challenge.

Fall, my favorite: DT layout for Stuck?! Sketches

October 14, 2015 By Janice Daquila-Pardo 2 Comments

This one-photo scrapbook page uses products from the We R Memory Keepers Autumn Splendor collection.

Today Stuck?! Sketches launches a new challenge. Why not play along with us using our October 15th sketch for some wonderful prizes from Lindy’s Stamp Gang and Scrapmatts?

Stuck?! Sketches October 15 2015 sketch challenge

Matt and I dogsat Spenser for Mom and Dad one autumn 1999 weekend while they took a little antiquing trip. I couldn’t resist taking a photo of my two guys with the changing leaves in the background.

Product/technique notes

Most of the patterned papers are from the We R Memory Keepers Autumn Splendor collection. The pumpkin die cuts behind the title are from the Silhouette store, and I designed the title to cut on the Silhouette as well.

Glued to the tube

October 12, 2015 By Janice Daquila-Pardo 1 Comment

Glued to the tube is a one-photo scrapbook page using BasicGrey's Highline collection.

This 1978 photo, which captures a very ordinary moment in a child’s life, makes me extraordinarily happy. It reminds me how fortunate I am to have this lifelong friendship with my brother. Love you, Philly!

Product/technique notes

I followed My Scraps & More sketch #115 and used the BasicGrey Highline collection. I painted the title with watercolors and scanned it to create the Silhouette cut file.

Time to recharge

October 6, 2015 By Janice Daquila-Pardo 1 Comment

Time to recharge is a one-photo scrapbook layout using products from BasicGrey, Heidi Swapp, Pebbles and Pink Paislee.

Not all of us are good at recognizing when we need to recharge our batteries. But Chloe does. Today why not follow her lead and take a little time for you? 🙂

Product/technique notes

I found some heavy inspiration from this September Paper Issues mood board: the position of the cat (and no, I didn’t set up this shot; it’s a photo I’ve had printed for at least a year!), the colors, the camera and the handwritten word. I used products from BasicGrey, Heidi Swapp, Pebbles and Pink Paislee. And I designed and cut the title (with plug) on my Silhouette.

Make mine a double

September 26, 2015 By Janice Daquila-Pardo 5 Comments

Make mine a double is a one-photo scrapbook layout based on a ScrapMuch? September sketch.

It doesn’t feel much like fall yet in Austin, Texas, so I have to get my cozy feelings from a mug of pumpkin spice tea spiked with pumpkin spice creamer. Here’s to the first taste of pumpkin flavor in the fall. Yum-tastic!

Product/technique notes

I followed this ScrapMuch? September 11 sketch and used papers from the 6×6 Amy Tangerine Ready Set Go pad.
