Celebrate Blogtoberfest with me all month!

I was amazed to realize recently that I have been blogging as The Constant Scrapper for a year now! I was so hesitant to start this blog because I was concerned that I wouldn’t have enough to say. It’s funny to me now to think about that because when you really love something you just can’t run out of things to say about it. That’s a happy lesson learned for me. 🙂

I feel like celebrating! So I have created “Blogtoberfest.” For the whole month of October I am going to have a party on my blog. I will provide fall projects and tutorials, post challenges and have giveaways. I’m very excited to celebrate this way with you, and I truly hope to provide content and fun projects that will bring you back each day and make you want to participate with me. If you want to chug a frosty mug while visiting each day, I’ll send you a virtual “Prosit!”

World Card Making Day 2011

My first day of celebration comes in the form of World Card Making Day. How kind of the paper crafting powers that be to schedule this event to coordinate with day one of Blogtoberfest!

I have created two cards for today’s post, and the theme of these is “create a card that mimics the shape of your thought.” What, you say? I know; that’s what my husband said when I told him, too. But the visual aids I had for him made this clearer.

This first card reads “#JustSayin’,” which is something I like to say to my husband after telling him a random fact. It makes us snicker because we’re using Twitter terms in our everyday speech. We’re cool like that. 🙂 Then inside it continues with the theme by reading “You’re TWEET!” Get it? The shape of the card (speech bubble) mimics the thought I’m trying to so coolly convey.

Put a hash tag in front of pretty much anything you say to increase your cool quotient by a factor of 10. 😉

Twitter humor at its finest, don't you think?

The second card satisfies my love of puns. I used the shape of a house and paper pieced the details to make it homey. Then inside it reads “House it going?” Ahh, the simple joys of life…like making myself giggle. I hope it makes you giggle, too, of course. 😉

This little house card is sized so that it will fit in a standard envelope.

House it going, Homey?

So, I guess my World Card Making Day challenge to you is going to be pretty obvious: Make a card that mimics the shape of your message. If you take this challenge, please link it up here in the comments so we can all come take a look at it and give you lots of comment love.

Very cute. Love those cards – very original. I am posting on my blog every day in October too. What is it about October? Turns out just before the month started I discovered 8 women who are hosting a ‘blog every day in October challenge’ and I ended up linking up there with over 700 people. Can you believe that?! Looks like you are doing a great job. Lots of fun & well thought out content!
