Stuck?! Sketches January 15 201

The story

I was barely three when my bro turned two, so I was obviously as excited as (or more than) he was about the blowing out of the candles! Today is Phil’s 49th birthday, so happy birthday, Philly. I love you to a trillion skies and wish I could be there to help you with the candles this year.

Product/technique notes

I used products from an older Jillibean Soup birthday collection called Spotted Owl Soup. I created the title and the calendar header with my Silhouette.

Stuck?! Sketches 3rd Anniversary Bash

This September marks Stuck?! Sketches’ third anniversary! That’s three years of inspiring sketches by Laura Whitaker, beautiful pages from our design team, and prizes from our fabulous sponsors. Laura and the design team will be celebrating with lots of extra posts, challenges, and prizes this month, so please join us for the fun.

Here’s a peek at the September 1st sketch. Head on over to the Stuck?! Sketches blog to play along with it for glory and prizes. I will also be sharing a layout based on this sketch in a September 11th blog hop with Clique Kits, so I hope you’ll come back for that. đŸ™‚

The brunch bunch: DT layout for Stuck?! Sketches

July 1, 2015 By Janice Daquila-Pardo 2 Comments

The brunch bunch is a 3-photo scrapbook page based on the July 1, 2015 sketch at Stuck?! Sketches.

Today Stuck?! Sketches is revealing its first sketch challenge of July, and the design team layouts for this one are awesome. Please join us over at the blog and allow the sketch and the design team inspire you to play along. We have great sponsor prizes up for grabs.

Stuck?! Sketches July 1, 2015

These photos show my friend, Audrey (wearing pink), with the group of friends she invited to attend the May Ladies for Life brunch held by the Coalition for Life. She hosted us all and decorated the table really beautifully. It was a great way to spend a Saturday morning—surrounded by sweet women and listening to an impassioned speaker on an important topic. For added fun there was also a photo booth with a pile of crazy hats and props, so we took a bunch of kooky photos together.

Product/technique notes

If I have items in my scrapbook stash that I still like and they go with my photos, I don’t care how old they are—I’m going to use them! I’m not ashamed to admit that the papers and stickers on this layout are from the BasicGrey Euphoria collection from 2008!

Excited to be joining the Stuck?! Sketches team

May 31, 2015 By Janice Daquila-Pardo Leave a Comment

I am honored to have been chosen as a design team member and blog coordinator at the Stuck?! Sketches challenge site! I will be sharing my layouts based on the sketches as well as blogging and working on their social media.

I have been a fan of this site since finding it last September during their anniversary celebration, and I am continually inspired by Laura Whitaker’s sketches. I am thrilled to be contributing to the inspiration the site offers to its followers.

I am a proud Stuck?! Sketches designer!

Queen Klutz

March 30, 2015 By Janice Daquila-Pardo 5 Comments

I’m klutzy. It goes beyond klutzy, really. In fact, I have always been so accident prone that my father used to call me Grace…because I had none.

And I’ve realized that this is a trait I’m just not going to outgrow. So I guess I may as well own it. I was recently telling my mom about my latest mishap (a full body slam to the tile floor of our entry way), and she suggested that I really should have kept a diary of my accidents over the years because I find such inventive ways of hurting myself. Yes, she expressed concern for my aches and pains, but in the end it’s a bit of a funny family fact: Jan is creatively clumsy.

Just a few that come to mind:

  • I once closed my ear in the car door.
  • I smacked my face so hard into our dining room light fixture that I gave myself a black eye and vertigo.
  • I fell all the way down a set of carpeted stairs and bounced into the living room.

So, now you know.

Product/technique notes

I followed this My Scraps & More sketch #102 very closely because I liked it so much. Most of the patterned papers on this are from Little Yellow Bicycle’s “Fern & Forest Girl” 6×6 pad.
