With you

With you by Janice Daquila-Pardo

The story

Phil took this photo of Mom and me while we were out for some shopping and lunch during my visit to North Carolina in September 2016. Just good old-fashioned mugging for the camera before digging in. #goodtimes

Product/technique notes

I created this page for a challenge during the Victoria Marie August online crop, which called for using old items from your stash. Trust me, this is all old stash because I haven’t bought any new supplies in quite a while. But the oldest item is the stamp I used to create the “Let’s do: coffee, lunch, etc.” element. It is from a 2007 stamp set from Inkadinkado.

Cub Scout 1976 by Janice Daquila-Pardo

The story

My brother and I participated in the Scouts when we were in grade school. This 1976 photo of Phil all dressed and saluting before heading to his Cub Scouts meeting is just too cute.

Product/technique notes

I created this page for the Packing List Challenge during the Paper Issues online crop, which called for using 5 items from a list they provided. I used blue, yellow, stamps, circles, and flair. I designed and cut the hexagons cut file on my Cricut and backed it with patterned papers from the Echo Park That’s My Boy collection.

I love a bargain

I love a bargain

The story

After calculating the sale price, the coupon, and my Kohl’s cash, this $60 ring cost me $1.08. I smile about that every time I wear it.

Product/technique notes

I created this page for a challenge during the Victoria Marie August online crop, which called for using a scrappy tool you haven’t pulled out in a while. I was pleased to have a chance to pull out my fringe scissors for this one! I used papers from One Canoe Two and one of the Shimelle collections and designed/cut the title with my Cricut.

My 9th birthday party

August 7, 2020 By Janice Daquila-Pardo Leave a Comment

The story

I was allowed to invite a few friends over to help me celebrate my birthday in 1975. We gathered in our basement to play games, open presents, and eat cake, and I think it’s easy to tell that I enjoyed every minute of it.

Front row: Andrea, Phil, and Regina
Back row: Amy, Christine, Meg, and me

Product/technique notes

I created this page for a challenge during the Victoria Marie August online crop, which called for making it about yourself. I used products from the Echo Park Birthday Wishes collection.

Last first day

Last first day

The story

This was the last of our traditional first-day-of-school photo shoots—Phil and me at the start of our senior year in the fall of 1984.

The sketch

This sketch is made for either three photos or one center photo and some surrounding patterned paper or journaling cards. If you make a layout based on this sketch, please link it up at the end of this post; I would just love to see what you’ve made with it.

The Constant Scrapper Sketch 5

Product/technique notes

I created this page with products from the Glitz Design Yours Truly collection and designed/cut the title with my Silhouette.
