Waving hello modern florals card

October 19, 2023 By Janice Daquila-Pardo Leave a Comment

The story

I created this card as part of the Celebrate World Card Making Day with Pinkfresh Studio “Anything Goes” challenge. My intention was to use fall colors with non-seasonal stamps to create an autumnal-ish card!

Product/technique notes

I stamped the Pinkfresh Studio “Modern Layered Florals” set with Distress Oxide Inks and die cut them. Then I ink blended complementary oxide ink colors on white cardstock and used the Floral Tiles coverplate die to create the background. I ran another ink blended piece of cardstock through the die cutting machine with the Hero Arts “Woodgrain Texture Fancy Die” before cutting it into a frame shape. I finished the design with a sentiment from Honeybee Stamps and a few sequins.

To all a good night card

November 6, 2022 By Janice Daquila-Pardo 1 Comment

The story

I created this Christmas card to enter into the October “Merry Everything” challenge at Stay Crafty with A Blog Named Hero. I will also be sending it in to the HeroFest Holiday Cheer Card Drive to be donated to the Bay Area Rescue Mission in support of the homeless.

Product/technique notes

For this card, I stamped the images and sentiment from the “Holiday Silhouette” set from Indadinkado and ink blended the night sky using Distress Oxide inks in tumbled glass, faded jeans, and chipped sapphire.

Christmas blessings robin card by Janice

The story

I created this non-traditional Christmas card to enter into the October “Merry Everything” challenge at Stay Crafty with A Blog Named Hero. I will also be sending it in to the HeroFest Holiday Cheer Card Drive to be donated to the Bay Area Rescue Mission in support of the homeless.

Product/technique notes

I stamped and die cut the main images with the Hero Arts “Color Layering Robin” set. I created the background element for the robin using Spellbinders oval and scalloped-oval dies and colored them with Distress Oxide inks. I mounted that all on a white background embossed with a Simon Says Stamp snowflake embossing folder.

The story

I’m entering this card in MFT color challenge 172.

Product/technique notes

I stamped the paisley images, colored them with Tombow markers, and fussy cut them. For the background I created layers of color and pattern by 1) ink smooshing with the colors in Distress Oxide inks, 2) stamping an additional image from the paisley collection in gray, and 3) adding the aqua polka dots through a stencil.
